GOLD MEDAL - Best Chardonnay
Canadian Wine Awards 2004

It's a bit taught and oaky at the moment, but this has terrific structure. Very generous spicy, smoky, sawdust nose with some creme brulee and apple-pear fruit below. Medium-full bodied, very creamy texture held together by good acidity and a warm finish. Very spicy now, excellent length and proportions. Best 2005 to 2008.
Rating: 89. David Lawrason, Wine Access. May 2004

"...offers more concentration and more show (than the 2002 Chardonnay). Wine for your dearer friends - the mood for something special."
Billy Munnelly, Billy's Best Bottles. Summer 2004

A huge wine with terrific depth and length. Now evolving toward prime with yellow-gold colour. Huge, opulent nose of butter, fresh herbs, wood smoke, coconut and marzipan, honey. Quite full bodied, rich and creamy on the palate with some wood bitterness on the finish. Excellent length. Very spicy. Best now to 2006.
David Lawrason, Winery to Home. June 2004

Colour: golden straw
Nose: nutty, ripe melon, buttery
Taste: rich, spicy mouth feel; well integrated oak, full-bodied, peach and melon flavours, great length. Quite forward, drinking well now
Drinkability: Hold (Short Term)
